New Character
Creating a new character
When you want to create a new character, simply follow the same procedure as in the HMK rulebook (the 14 steps listed on page 19).

Creating a new character HMK Toolkit is done in stages. Each stage has its own Help page listed below. We will follow the creation of Hildegard, an Odívshè Shèk-Pvâr. Her completed character is shown above. I made a character creation worksheet that is available for download in the resources section. The completed worksheet for Hildegard looks like this.

Birth, Family, & Persona (Steps 1 through 10.6)
These steps are done in the "Birth, Family, & Persona" window. [CMD-B]
See the Documentation for Birth, Family, & Persona.
Note You should consider using the great background story tables on page 429 for character creation. I find that if you do, it's best to do so early in the character creation process, as it may influence some of the choices you make and the narrative of the character's early years. Most of the information that result from this would go in the Notes section of the character sheet.
Occupation & Skills (Steps 11 and 12)
These steps are done in the "Development" window. [CMD-D]
See the Documentation for Development.
Standing & The Mysteries (Steps 13 and 14)
These steps are done directly on the character sheet.
Step 13 Standing. On the first page of the character sheet, select the number on the 'Wealth' line and enter the character's wealth.

Step 14 The Mysteries. The Fate Roll is automatically calculated. You need to enter the Fate points, Piety, Ceremony, blessing bonus, and doctrines.

For more information on using the character sheet, see the Documentation for the Character Sheet.
Character Details (Appearance)
This is done in the "Appearance" window. [CMD-A]
See the Documentation for Appearance.
Equipment, Weapons, Armour, and Spells
See the Documentation for Equipment.
The equipment and spells are added in the "Edit Equipment" window. [CMD-E]
When you create a new character you get an amount of "Possessions Value" equal to Wealth x 100d (see page 51). This is easy to track with HMK Toolkit. When you add items to the character, the value of the total gear is displayed on the Combat Gear header on page 2 of the character sheet. As you add items you can see the total increase and you can monitor how much remains of your possessions budget.
For example, Kérrys has a wealth of 10 and a budget of 1000d to equip his character.

Additional steps
If the character is a Shèk-Pvâr, spells are added like equipment and in the same window. An example is shown in the 3rd video below.
Older Videos
I made three videos that illustrate the process. They're from an earlier version of HMK Toolkit but are still relevant. They show the same process for the creation of Hildegard.
