Managing Gear
There are four ways to manage gear for a character. Each one has a specific focus.
Directly on the Character sheet
Directly on the character sheet: You can edit the quantity of an item that the character already has equipped; You can also momentarily drop a container and pick it up later. There are also a couple of modifications that can be made to equipment on the character sheet, like reducing/increasing the Weapon Quality because of damage/repair, or reducing the Alchemical Strength of an elixir.
Edit Equipment
Through the Edit Equipment tool: to add basic equipment without directly affecting the character's coins or to create a new item and add it to the character. All weapons and armour articles and most of the expedition equipment is readily available through this method. This is also the only way to add spells or an armour suit to the character. You can also delete equipment and spells from the character through this tool.
Swap Equipment
Through the Swap Equipment tool: to swap an item that is already on the character from one container to another, including to unequip an armour article and put it in a bag (or vice versa), or remove (delete) an item from the character.
Price Cyclopedia
Through the Price Cyclopedia: to add any item to the character, or just pay for a service. The Cyclopedia includes all the items available in the 'Edit Equipment' tool and has a lot more. You can use the Cyclopedia to debit the coins from the character. You can also add the item to Short Notes instead of in a container (for conveyances for example). Potions, elixirs, and mixtures are best added with this method as it allows to set some of the variables like the Alchemical Strength for elixirs.
